Objectives

Apprehension and development of work in some fields of application of the Finite Element Method, namely, plates, shells, non linear problems and Dynamic Problems.

Program

Plates and Shells a survey of some advanced formulations.
Finite Element Formulation and Programing of Problems with a nonlinear material behaviour.
Geometric nonlinear analysis using the Finite Element Method.
Dynamic analysis resorting to Finite Element Method.
Applications to relevant Mechanical Engineering Problems.

Teaching methods and learning activities

There will be lectures and the students will solve problems resorting to Computational tools in one or more of the various areas of the subject
