Instance: 2003/2004 - 1S
Cycles of Study/Courses
Teaching language
Portuguese
Objectives
To provide a supplementary instruction in domains of Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering and other technical and profesional domains, in order to prepare future chemical engineers for working in firms which produce, process and/or sell polymers.
Program
Chemistry and engineering of polymerization reactions and processes: Linear ireeversible polycondensations-Linear reversible polycondensations-Non-linear polycondensations-Anionic and cationic polymerization-Ziegler-Natta polymeization-Free radical polymerization-Modification and chemical recycling of polymers.
Main Bibliography

Teaching methods and learning activities
Lectures supported by presentation of slides. Tutorial sessions with resolution of problems, previously distributed to the students. Laboratory sessions on polymer synthesis. Home works consisting in problems with large extension and use of computer, too long for solving during a tutorial session, and reports about lab work.
Evaluation Type
Distributed evaluation without final exam
Eligibility for exams
Less than 4 absences.
Calculation formula of final grade
Weighed average of the several tests and monographies.
Classification improvement
New tests/monographies.
