Objectives

Provide methods for analysis of dynamical systems, linear and non-linear, in Engineering.

Program

Analogies between dynamical systems;
Transfer functions. Lumped and distributed systems;
First order systems. Stationary gain and time constant;
Second order systems. Stationary gain, time constant and dumping factor;
Distributed systems;
Model equivalence;
Frequency response analysis. Bode and Nyquist diagrams. Stability.
Non-linear systems. Nature of singular points. Applications in Chemical Engineering and Biology.
