Objectives

Upon completing this course, students should be able to:
- Understand the complexity as well as the quantitative and qualitative features of the decision-making process and apply simple approaches to problem-solving and structuring;
- Use optimization models and applications as well as heuristic techniques in solving problems of practical interest;
- Understand the scope of application of simulation and project management techniques;
- Formulate multicriteria decision problems and apply adequate decision support methodologies;
- Acquire the notion of risk in decision-making in an uncertain environment and use adequate methodologies for these situations;
- Draft Invitations to Tender and apply adequate selection methods.
