Current position: Postdoctoral researcher at the Civil Engineering Department of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP); Integrated Member of the R&D unit CONSTRUCT- Institute of R&D in Structures and Construction.
Education: MSc in Civil Engineering from FEUP (2010); PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Porto (2016).
Main research interests/skills: Soil-geosynthetic interaction under monotonic and cyclic loading conditions; Long-term behaviour of geosynthetic-reinforced soil systems; Use of recycled construction and demolition wastes in Civil Engineering works; Reinforcement and stabilisation of rail track substructure; Construction materials; Sustainability and circular economy.

Main activities: Postdoctoral Researcher on several Research Projects in Portugal (FEUP) and Australia (University of Wollongong); author of over 60 scientific publications (h-index, Scopus=15); co-supervisor of 4 Master’s and 1 PhD theses; reviewer for over 20 indexed international journals; Editorial Board Member of Geotextiles and Geomembranes (Elsevier), Geosynthetics International (ICE Publishing Ltd.), Sustainability (MDPI) and Frontiers in Built Environment (Frontiers Media S.A.); invited speaker at several national and international scientific events.
Other relevant information: Recipient of 5 awards/distinctions; Honorary Fellow of the University of Wollongong Australia; Member of the Portuguese Order of Engineers, Portuguese Geotechnical Society, International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE), and International Geosynthetics Society (IGS); Portuguese Representative of the IGS Young Members Committee since 2015.
