Project manager for METIS, an infrared first-light instrument for the Extremely Large Telescope (ELT) to be built by the European Southern Observatory (ESO) in Chile. The Portuguese contribution consists in building the support and access maintenance structure (WSS) for METIS.

Lead VLTI (Very Long Telescope Interferometry) scientist at the Portuguese VLTI Expertise Centre, providing support for proposal preparation, data reduction, data analysis and modelling of VLTI data

Expertise in detection/observational techniques, interferometry in the radio and optical/infrared, instrumentation and image reconstruction.
