António Lobo is a Senior Researcher at the Department of Civil and Georesources Engineering (DECG) of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP), Head of the Spatial Planning and Transport Laboratory of DECG and Integrated Member of the Research Centre for Territory, Transports and Environment (CITTA). He holds an MSc in Civil Engineering from the University of Porto since 2008, a PhD in Transport Systems (cum laude) from the University of Porto since 2017, and a Postgraduate Degree in Business Intelligence and Analytics from Porto Business School since 2019. He has 17 years of research experience in Transport Engineering and Management, acting in two main domains: (i) human factors and technology implications in the transport sector, and (ii) transport economics and operations management. He has co-authored two books and more than 65 papers in peer-reviewed journals and conferences. He was granted a PhD studentship from the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology, a Best Student Award from Porto Business School, and six awards at international and national conferences. He is associate editor of European Transport Research Review (Springer), editorial board member of Journal of Urban Mobility (Elsevier), member of the council of DECG, member of the board of the Association for European Transport (AET), coordinator of the operational project PO03 – Freight Transport at the Conference of Rectors of the Universities of the European South West (CRUSOE), member and auditor of the International Co-operation on Theories and Concepts in Traffic Safety (ICTCT), and member of the Transport Safety Committee of the Pan American Society for Transport and Logistics Research (PANAMSTR).
