Current position: Post-Doc Researcher at the Department of Civil Engineering of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto; Researcher at the Institute of R&D in Structures and Construction (CONSTRUCT).

Education: PhD in Environmental Engineering (Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, 2010); MSc in Chemistry (Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto, 2003); Degree in Chemistry (Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto, 2000).

Main research interests: Geosynthetics; Durability of geosynthetics; Photo and thermo-oxidation of polymers; Sustainable construction; Recycled construction materials; Analytical chemistry.

Main activities: Author of 2 book chapters, 20 papers in international scientific journals and more than 70 papers in national and international conference proceedings. Author of more than 150 oral and poster communications in national and international conferences. Co-inventor of the Portuguese patent PT104126 – Equipment and method for thermo-oxidation testing of geosynthetics. Team member of 5 research projects. Member of the working groups “WG5 – Durability” of the technical committees CEN/TC189 and ISO/TC221 (CEN and ISO technical committees on geosynthetics).
