Current position:

Assistant Professor of Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP); Member of the Mathematics Division of the Civil Engineering Department of FEUP; Member of LSRE-LCM, Laboratory of Separation and Reaction Engineering - Laboratory of Catalysis and Materials.

Education:

PhD in Engineering Sciences, University of Porto - Moving Finite Element Method: Application to Two-Dimensional Partial Differential Systems of Equations (2000). Pedagogical Aptitude and Scientific Capacity - Contractivity and Stability in multistep methods (1993). Degree in Applied Mathematics from Faculty of Science of the University of Porto (1986).

Main research interests/skills:

Numerical analysis. Mathematical Modelling. Numerical Simulation. Differential equations with partial derivatives. Convection-diffusion-reaction equation. Separation and Reaction Processes. Development of numerical methods. Moving Finite Element Method.

Main activities:

Participation, as a team member, in 7 research projects; Principal researcher of a project supported by the Foundation for Science and Technology. Supervisor of 2 PhD theses. Co-author of Moving Finite Element Method: Fundamentals and Applications in Chemical Engineering, 2018 by CRC Press.
