This training within the scope of Space Engineering: a) Is part of Cluster 4: Digital, Industry and Space of Horizonte Europe; b)It fits into several priority domains of ENEI 2030 smart specialization, with emphasis on the priority domain "Large Natural Assets: Forest, Sea and Space"; c) It is transversal to several priority areas of S3 NORTE 2027, such as "Industry and advanced manufacturing systems", "Sustainable mobility and energy transition", "Sea resources and economy" and "Technologies, state, economy and society"; d) It builds on the work of the Thematic Research and Innovation Agenda for Space and Earth Observation and the Portugal Space 2030 Strategy.
The main objectives of this training unit are:
- Introduce New Space by contrasting it with more classic sectors of Space and Space Engineering.
- Analyze the technological developments that allowed the emergence and are driving New Space.
- Organize New Space actors in Portugal and globally.
- Evaluate applications and opportunities linked to New Space.
