The cycle of studies aims to train graduates with an in-depth basic knowledge of Civil Engineering, which will allow them to apply updated and adequate analysis methodologies, materials, equipment and processes with respect for Ethics, Environment and the best interests of the Community.
This training should provide its continuation in the 2nd cycle of Civil Engineering. For this, it offers solid knowledge in the basic sciences, namely in Mathematics, Physics, Programming and Technical Drawing, and comprehensive knowledge in the major scientific and technical areas of Civil Engineering, with in-depth application of initial training subjects, addressing the areas of Structures, Materials, Geotechnics, Construction, Hydraulics, Roads of Communication, Spatial Planning, Environment and Transports.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
i. Obtain advanced knowledge in the fundamental scientific and technological domains of Civil Engineering. Basic sciences include knowledge applicable in subsequent technical areas and, in these technical areas, it is intended to ensure basic training in Strength of Materials and Structures, Hydraulics and Environment, Physics and Technology of Constructions and Materials, Soil Mechanics, Territory Planning and Transport, including advanced knowledge in relevant aspects.
ii. Develop skills for access to advanced training under a Master's Degree in Civil Engineering.
iii. Create skills that allow them to apply processes to analyze Civil Engineering problems, carry out low-complexity projects, with critical thinking in decision-making, communication skills and teamwork, and a vocation for lifelong learning.
