Abstract (EN):
In open pit quarries it's common the use of large equipment that generate high noise levels. In order to relate production process parameters with noise levels is essential observation and analyze of the noise exposure conditions of these workers, complementarily to the measurement of the noise level inside those cabins. Usually, noise measurements are used only for occupational effects. This paper aimed to verify the existence of noise patterns occurring in cycles of loading and transport which are performed in a daily routine between the mining area and the crushing plant of a quarry. Data collection methodology took into account the main steps of noise measurement suggested by international standards, while was made an analysis of work content. Detailed analysis performed these tasks and cycles performed, aided in the detection of relevant events that allowed detecting patterns of noise propagation. For this detection in the different tasks an analysis was made in each frequency octave bands predetermined (63Hz-8KHz). It was possible to confirm the existence of noise patterns associated with loading and transport, these patterns may be in the near future, a tool to aid decision-making and improve procedures in areas such as occupational health, safety and productivity.
