Abstract (EN):
A reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography method with ultraviolet detection was optimized and validated for quantification of ¿-lactalbumin in human milk. It was found that the analysis of ¿-lactalbumin can be performed by semiquantitative methods, such as electrophoresis. Samples were skimmed by centrifugation at 5000 rpm, at room temperature, for 5 min, filtered using Whatman No. 42, and diluted 1/5 with deionized water. The external standard method was used to calibrate the system for ¿-lactalbumin quantification. The precision of the method taking into account its repeatability and reproducibility was evaluated. The results show that the method was able to quantify ¿-lactalbumin of human milk with good precision and shorter analysis time.
