International Office

The International Office (SRI) aims to coordinate and support the different international cooperation activities of the U.Porto. The office is permanently in contact with the different Faculties, so as to follow-up the needs of the academic community in the development of their international relations.
The International Office works as an information centre, and as an international link of the U.Porto to the networks in which the university participates and to its partner institutions.

The international office (SRI) provides up-to-date information on education and mobility programmes to students, teachers and researchers of the U.Porto. It also assists students who wish to spend a study period in a partner university (except higher education institutions of Portuguese-speaking and Latin American countries), manages the allocation of Erasmus and Leonardo da Vinci mobility grants, and assists foreign students who wish to spend a study period at the U.Porto in finding accommodation.

The office also searches for new opportunities and supports the submission of applications to existing programmes, as a means to develop and strengthen the cooperation between the university and an increasing number of institutions internationally known for their high quality and dynamism. Within the scope of this approach, the university has been implementing partnerships with universities all over the world.

The SRI is also responsible for the Regional Fulbright Centre, which aims to provide the students both of the U.Porto and of the region with information on the Fulbright grants available, on the North American education system and on the application to American universities.

The office also hosts the EURAXESS Service Centre of the University of Porto, which aims to provide the researchers who intend to spend a research period in our university with information on their stay.
