Continuous Education at the University of Porto

The U.Porto is well aware of this challenge and acknowledges its scientific and pedagogic potential. For this reason, in the last few years it has invested in stimulating the continuous training area as an important element in its link with the exterior. In this sense, and in a joint effort with its Component Units, attempts have been made to provide quality and flexible continuous training programmes aimed at various audiences and different professional categories, and in a broader sense, aimed at all those interested in updating and strengthening knowledge or in cultural valuation.

Within the training offers provided, non-degree awarding and in a post-graduate level, the U.Porto offers specialization courses (2^nd cycle level with at least 30 ECTS credits) and advanced studies (3^rd cycle level), recognized and credited by the competent statutory bodies of the University. Continuing training courses or units are courses aimed basically at updating knowledge and personal advancement, in addition to the "open courses". These courses are listed in the Continuing Education catalog of the University of Porto
