Biography of José Pereira Salgado (1873-1946)

He studied Medicine at the Medical-Surgical School of Porto and was awarded the doctorate degree in Physics and Chemistry by the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto and in Chemical Engineering by the Faculty of Engineering.
He taught Chemistry, directed the Laboratory of Chemistry of the Faculty of Sciences and the Institute of Climatology and Hydrology of the University of Porto.
He was a founding member of the Portuguese Society of Chemistry and Rector of the U.Porto.
