	José Castro Portugal Scientist, mineralogist and university teacher

Biography of José Castro Portugal (1870-1936)

He graduated in Mining and Industrial Engineering at the Polytechnic Academy of Porto, where he was a demonstrator of Physics and a naturalist of Mineralogy.
He taught Mineralogy, Petrology, Geology and Crystallography at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto. He was a Doctor in History and Natural Sciences and directed the Museum and Laboratory of Mineralogy and Geology.
