The EUROTRACS project (EUROpean Treatment & Reduction of Acute Coronary Syndromes cost analysis) is funded by the Executive Agency for Health and Consumers entrusted by the European Commission to implement the Health Programme (2008-2013). EUROTRACS contributes to the Health Programme main objective " to promote health, including the reduction of health inequalities".
The EUROTRACS project aims to develop utility analysis (cost-effectiveness) in terms of cost per QALY saved in two fields:
interventions designed to prevent coronary artery disease incidence
optimal use of coronary angiography and percutaneous intervention procedures in the management of patients with acute coronary syndrome.
Why EUROTRACS
Prevention of chronic diseases is a key issue of the Health Programme. EUROTRACS will allow policy makers to design national and international public health actions aimed at decreasing coronary artery disease morbidity and mortality in the most cost-efficient manner. |
