Abstract (EN): During the last few decades, Moringa oleifera seeds have gained enormous scientific attention. Indeed, the rapid growth of this tree, even under hard climatic conditions, its low demand for soil nutrients and watering, associated with its high production of seeds (more than one harvest a year) with a high oil yield (up to 44%), makes its production and development easy and reliable for the industry as a new source of oil for edible and non-edible purposes. In the past, Moringa oleifera seed oil was used mostly in the dermocosmetic field, including in perfumes, skin lotions and ointments to treat disorders and damages imposed by the extremes of desert weather conditions. Scientifics evidences of its good quality and suitability for edible purposes came latter, with a particular interest on its high mono-unsaturated to saturated fatty acids ratio, included in the category of natural high oleic oils, as olive oil, and therefore desirable in terms of nutrition, health and even technological applications. It is also rich in micronutrients such as tocopherols and phytosterols, which have demonstrated strong in vivo antioxidant activity, and are beneficial in the prevention and treatment of several medical disorders and ailments In this regards, a review regrouping the most pertinent information on Moringa tree propagation, as well as the composition, production, uses and health benefits of its seed oil, would be of a great interests and advantageous for further investigations and curious readers. © 2018 Nova Science Publishers, Inc.
