Augusto Ribeiro brings valuable experience to the field of digital transformation in academic information management, making thoughtful contributions to its ongoing development. As Director of the Documentation and Information Management Service at the University of Porto Digital, he drives innovation across Open-Access Repositories, Research Data Repositories, Information Systems, Archives, and Library Platforms.

With over 25 years of experience, Augusto has played a role in modernising library and archival services. He served as Senior Application Analyst at the University of Porto (1998–2013; 2014–2025) and at King’s College London (2013–2014), where he led systems support and collaborated with development teams to deliver forward-thinking solutions.

He holds a degree in Computer Science Engineering, a postgraduate diploma in Information Technology for Enterprise Management, and an Advanced Studies diploma in Research for Libraries and Documentation (Phd coursework). His strategic vision and ability to integrate technology with information and documentation management have contributed positively to the evolution of digital academic ecosystems.
