Her main research areas of interest are Computer Simulation, High Performance Computing, Information Systems, Electronic Administration and Informal Learning Spaces.
Lígia Maria Ribeiro was co-responsible for the development of the Information System of the University of Porto (
SIGARRA) and was its principal coordinator for eighteen years. She was the creator of the
e-learning café concept at the University of Porto.
