Details
Summary: The PSA separation processes have being studied by the world community since its appearance in the 40s. Although, there is few data on the open literature on the scale-up of these units. With the present project we want to create the knowledge for the scale-up of these units and the corresponding experimental validation.
This study will be focused essentially on the optimization of the feed distribution across the entrance section, the aspect ration of the columns, the pressure history symmetry between the two columns, adsorbent type and adsorbent cycle.
Finally the results will be submitted for publication to the specialized scientific journals. If the results from this project allow for patenting, the project researchers and FEUP will own the their rights.
