Samuel Martins received is degree in Journalism and Communication Sciences, field of Multimedia Communication in 2004 at the University of Porto (U.Porto) and his master degree in Multimedia Communication (Digital Audiovisual) at Aveiro University in 2010. 

Because of his performance over the years, in 2012 he also wins the Católica-Porto Business School only vacancy from APEX (Alliance to Promote Excellence in Public Administration) to attend the General Management executive course from this Business School which he graduated successfully in 2013.

Currently he's working at U.Porto Communications and Media department, since September 2014, in the field of digital and multimedia communications. Particularly in in social media management, in the development and integration of online marketing strategies and digital engagement of the U.Porto Alumni community (This work developed with the U.Porto Alumni community was recently mentioned by the Rector of the University of Porto), in the management and planning of U.Porto audiovisual content and digital projects webdevelopment.


                                               

Since 2004 he developed is work on the U.Porto Distance Learning Unit, particularly in the areas of multimedia, videoconference, training, research and management in e-learning and also in the areas of video in education, social media integration in the educational process and integration of european projects.

During this period is role was key to the initial momentum of the videoconference technologies at the U.Porto and the structuring of the video in education area at this institution, positioning it as a national and international reference in these themes. In this same period he played an important role in the relationship of the Department for Digital University from the U.Porto with FCCN-FCT (Foundation for National Scientific Computing - Foundation for Science and Technology).

Is work was internationally awarded with the 2012 Honorable Mention from the Elite Award for Excellence in implementing Information Systems for Higher Education from EUNIS (European University Information Systems Organization). In 2013 he becomes the winner of this prestigious european award.

His civic intervention developed over the years in the digital field earned him, also in 2013, a vote of public commendation from his hometown Assembly Authority Council (Alcaria, Porto de Mós, Leiria).
