Holds a PhD in Biology from the FCUP. For 20 years, she was a researcher at CIBIO-UP, having investigated the origin, evolution and conservation of biodiversity in the Western Mediterranean Basin.Curator of the Fish, Amphibian and Reptile collections at the Natural History and Science Museum of the University of Porto.
