The Department of Anatomy ensures all teaching of Anatomy to students of Human and Veterinary Medicine. In addition to teaching, The Department is the home of a Museum of Anatomy. This museum is accessible to all visitors and groups of students from secondary schools and universities, provided they make an appointment in advance by email so that there is no coincidence with occupation of the Museum teaching classes.

The University of Porto has a Human Anatomy Museum (with a section also Animal Anatomy) available for all visitors. The Anatomy Museum belongs to the Institute of Biomedical Sciences Abel Salazar that is located close to the Crystal Palace gardens.

The visit to the museum is free but requires prior reservation by email to museuanatomia@icbas.up.pt. It must mention the number of visitors, and, if applied the name of the school, the desired date for visit school year, number of students and email contact.
