Objectives

Learning outcomes of the curricular unit:

Students should i) know the main stages of the life cycle, integrating the aspects of human being biological,

psychological and social development; ii ) know the basic behavioral system, integrating the knowledge of

structure / function and iii ) identify the main focus of each stage of life and the challenges they pose in terms of

health

Learning outcomes and competences

In the course of Psychology student will know the basic stages of human development and the major behavioral

processes. Always using an integrated perspective of function / structure, the student is gradually guided from the

basic processes of human behavior to the medical psychology that comes later in the curriculum. In this sense the

issues are first addressed in a fundamental science perspective and later in their applications in healthcare.

Teaching methods and learning activities

Theoretical classes using audio-visual material to teach the main syllabus contents. The theoretical-practical

classes include the presentation and discussion of empirical work, including case studies, with the application of

the syllabus in the scope of health.

The evaluation of UC is distributed and includes the students' reports.
