Identify the Portuguese thermal spas and its water types, as the indications and contraindications for a thermal treatment
Have also ideas about thermal reality in the EU area
Apply crenotherapeutic and complementary techniques
Prescribe a dietary and exercise program by assessing the physical condition and risk factors
Understand the regulatory aspects of hydrotherapy as data from hydrological practice at an international level

Its therapeutic principles;
Its treatment techniques;
The classification of the natural mineral waters;
The main groups of this classification;

Teaching methods and learning activities
Theorical and pratical classes.
The contents referred are addressed in a practical aspect, occurring much of the time in the S. Jorge spa facilities, allowing a teaching experience that goes beyond the environment of the faculty and hospital and broadening the horizon of students to other aspects. Moreover, we stress the concept of health promotion as opposed to a more dominant teaching logic centered in aspects related to treatment of illness that, being obviously essential, should not be exhausted here.
