The student must achieve theoretical and practical knowledge on the current surgical techniques used in equine, swine and ruminants. The student must be able to select the anesthetic protocols as well as the pre and post therapeutic protocols to differente clinical situations.
During the realization of practical classes students should know and perform the procedures described pre-surgical, surgical and post-surgical, inherent to different surgical techniques performed in cattle, horses and pigs
The prior knowledge from other disciplines, like anatomy, clinical semiology, anesthesiology and surgical semiology are essential for understanding theoretical and pratical lessons.
The knowledge of the different surgical techniques performed in cattle, horses and pigs, taught during lectures, must be present during the practical classes.
