Teaching methods and learning activities

The presentation of theoretical themes is supported by the use of different support material (slides, videos, multimedia). Practical teaching consists of classes at CCIVV, at the ICBAS Kennel, at Estação Litoral da Aguda and on study visits to livestock farms. This year, due to restrictions imposed by the measures to contain the Covid-19 pandemic, study visits may have to be replaced by other activities that allow the acquisition of similar competencies.

Assessment Components

Designation Weight (%)
Exame 100,00
Total: 100,00

Amount of time allocated to each course unit

Designation Time (hours)
Estudo autónomo 38,00
Frequência das aulas 43,00
Total: 81,00

Eligibility for exams

To approve this course it is required to attend a total of 75% of the practical classes.

Calculation formula of final grade

The evaluation will be done through a final exam, with two parts of similar value. The first part will take place during the mid-term evaluation week and the second in the formal "normal official exam" period. For approval, the student must obtain the minimum grade of 10 in both parts, and the final grade is calculated by the average of the two parts.
In the "appeal exam period", the whole of the subjects will be evaluated. However, for students that did not obtain approval in one of the parts it is possible to repeat only that part. The same rule apply for, the minimum grade (10) per part and the calculation formula of the final grade as indicated above. Such possibility does not apply in the special exam periods nor in subsequent scholar years.
Final exam will be performed in MOODLE.
