Objectives
The program intends to present the technologies of commercial cultures of important freshwater and marine species for national and international production. Students have the opportunity to apply, learn and enhance their skills and knowledge in the aquaculture environment. Technical visits to industrial installations will complete the knowledge about the different technologies of aquaculture.
Learning outcomes and competences
At the end of the course students should: Know the context of aquaculture in global food production; understand the necessary balance between human activities and the environment over time; acquired solid knowledge on current aquaculture building construction techniques, their application fields and their limitations; describe the techniques and types of farming systems and designs used for the main species; demonstrate competency with the most relevant aquaculture harvest, post-harvest handling and processing technologies
