Objectives

1. Surgical Pathology knowledge of small animals: nomina, surgical techniques, etiology, pathophysiology, diagnosis, surgical treatments.

 2. Practice routine surgical protocols in veterinary clinic of small animals

Learning outcomes and competences

1.Be able to conduct their professional activity responsibly.

2. Know the etiology, pathogenesis, clinical signs, diagnosis and treatment of diseases of surgical disorders of small animals.

3. Select the complementary diagnostic methods for differential diagnoses, according to their usefulness, cost and benefit, in particular surgical therapy, being able to adapt to the constraints on the clinical situation of the animal, as well as the circumstances economic, emotional and practices of their respective owners.

4. To propaly and safely, the most common surgical procedures in small animals.

  • II-Surgery of the digestive system:oral region, oesophagus, stomach, small and large Intestine, perineal region, rectum and anus. 

  • III - Surgery of liver and biliary system.

  • IV - Surgery of the endocrine system.

  • V - Surgery of urinary system - Upper and Lower.

  • VI - Surgery of the respiratory system - Upper and Lower. 

  • VII - Surgery of ther cardiovascular system. 

  • VIII - Reconstrutive surgery

  • IX - Neurosurgery. 

  • X - Exotic animals Surgery. 

  • XI - Orthopaedics
