Abstract (EN): The objective of this article is to demonstrate the use of FIA (Flow Injection Analysis) in bioreactor monitoring. The results obtained in the development of an automatic glucose analyzer are presented, including details of the sampling device and computer management of the system. A manifold has been constructed employing the stream splitter technique, which permits an accurate determination of glucose over a wide concentration range without an external sample dilution step. The flow system has been applied to on-line glucose monitoring in a Candida rugosa batch fermentation.
