Current position: Assistant Professor at the Abel Salazar Institute of Biomedical Sciences, University of Porto (ICBAS-UP). Integrated researcher at the Center for Pharmacological Research and Medicinal Innovation (MedInUP), specializing in cardiovascular research.

Academic background: Degree in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro. Pedagogical Aptitude and Scientific Capacity in Veterinary Cardiology, University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro. Doctorate in Veterinary Sciences, University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro.

Main research interests/skills: Research activities encompass both fundamental and clinical aspects, primarily focusing on cardiovascular sciences and veterinary cardiology. Topics of interest include heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, cardiac imaging, and dirofilariasis. Clinical work at the UPVET Veterinary Hospital of the University of Porto, specializing in veterinary cardiology.

Key activities: Teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Physiology, Pharmacology, Therapeutics, Small Animal Clinic (veterinary cardiology), and Laboratory Animal Science. Participation in 11 research projects. Supervised 52 clinical and scientific research projects (MSc, PhD).
