Master Degree in Oncology

InformationThe course/SC is accredited by the Agency for Assessment and Accreditation of Higher Education (A3ES).
The Master's Degree in Oncology aims to contribute to solid training based on current knowledge derived from basic and clinical research in Oncology. It addresses issues ranging from the development of cancer, its genetic link and the molecular bases of therapy.

Partner Institutions: The Master's in Oncology has the following partners: Instituto Português de Oncologia do Porto Francisco Gentil, EPE (IPO Porto); Instituto de Investigação e Inovação em Saúde U.Porto (i3S); Instituto de Ciências da Vida e da Saúde UMinho (ICVS); Instituto Nacional de Saúde Dr. Ricardo Jorge; Centro Hospitalar Universitário de Santo António EPE; Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência; Fundação Champalimaud.

Objectives

The Clinical Oncology specialization is aimed at clinical and epidemiological research in oncology, including the acquisition of skills in the areas of prevention and screening, clinical and epidemiological diagnosis, treatment, health education, management and family and social reintegration, communication, as well as the participation in and development of laboratory oncology research.

The specialization in Laboratory Oncology is aimed at oncology research, laboratory work, molecular diagnosis, management and health education.
