Admissions Requirements

  • Holders of a master's degree or equivalent in the scope of Life and Environmental Sciences and Engineering, namely Biology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Biological Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Engineering, Oceanography, Biotechnology, Marine Sciences and Technologies or related areas.
  • Holders of a bachelor's degree in the scope of Life Sciences and the Environment and Engineering, and / or holders of an especially relevant school, scientific or professional curriculum that is recognized as attesting the capacity to carry out this cycle of studies by the legal and statutory body of the Universities of Porto and Minho.
  • Holders of degrees awarded by foreign Universities provided that they demonstrate an adequate basic scientific preparation under the terms of no. 1.

  • Academic curriculum
    • Average degree and master's degree> 17 (weighting 60%)
    • Average degree and master's degree -16 (weighting 55%)
    • Average degree and master's degree -15 (weighting 50%)
    • Average degree and master's degree 14 or
  •     Scientific Curriculum
    • Publications in SCI indexed journals> 5 publications (weighting 30%)
    • Publications in SCI indexed journals - 2 to 4 publications (weighting 25%)
    • Publications in SCI indexed journals - 1 (weighting 20%)
    • Publications in SCI indexed journals - 0 (weighting 15%)
    • Ability to use English as a working language (weighting 5%)
    • Motivation letter - Very motivated (weighting 5%)
    • Motivation letter - motivated (weighting 3%)
    • Motivation letter - No motivation or no letter (weighting 1%)

Candidate tiebreaker criteria:

    • The scientific evaluation criterion will be used to rank tied candidates.
