Description: |
The General Physiology Laboratory is composed of three groups. The first is the ionic transport group, and its main scientific interest is the study of biomineralization (molecular mechanisms and cellular calcification) and ionic transport on bivalves. The second group works on gametes physiology and reproductive biotechnologies. These two working groups result from the cooperation between Physiology Laboratory of ICBAS and National Laboratory of Veterinary Research (LNIV-Vairão) and they both integrate the Centre of Animal Science Studies (CECA) of Agronomic Sciences Institute of Vairão (ICAV), Oporto University. The Physiology Laboratory is also dedicated to the research of both the endocrinology of growth and the crustacean reproduction. This third group integrates CIIMAR – Associate Laboratory. |
