Teaching methods and learning activities
Theoretical classes of 2 hours and practical classes of 3 hours in each of the teaching weeks of the school calendar. The curricular unit will have theoretical classes using expositive methods and resourcing to multimedia and didactic video presentations whenever available, also searching for the continuous interaction with the student. The practical classes will be based, depending on the availability of resources, in real situations or simulations of prophylactic and therapeutic methods, using also laboratory methods and focusing on different parasite diagnostic techniques (coprology, ectoparasite identification, smears)

Eligibility for exams
Assisting practical classes and the presentation/discussion of scientific works.
Practical classes assistance is saved for one (1) school year
Calculation formula of final grade
The final classification is obtained by the weighted sum of 3 evaluation moments.
1) Presentation/discussion of scientific work, one based on bibliographic review and the other on journal club model (with a weight of 10% + 10%, a total of 20% in the final grade);
2) Laboratory work on diagnosis of parasitic disease (with a weight of 30% of the final grade) and that includes the execution of the technique, diagnostic evaluation and report writing; and
3) Examination (with a weight of 50% of the final grade). The theoretical examination consists of true and false questions, short answer questions, discussion of clinical cases and/or other relationships or complete.
