During the course of this discipline, the students will learn fundamental knowledge in the domain of fish nutrition and feeding.
The sudent should know, understand and debate why: 1) The transformation of relatively low valued food, to more attractive ones to human consumption, is the main goal of any animal production study; 2) Tha wven though the possibility to attain 100% conversion efficiency is an unachievable task, the degree in which the feed ingredients are used, constitutes the central concern of the nutritionists; 3) Why the costs of the formulated feed in an intensive system represent between 40 and 70% of the total production costs. The careful preparation of this discipline will contribute for the preparation of capable and independent professional to contribute for the aquaculture management of the feed resources.
Exposure of theoretical issues is supported in the use of diverse material (slides, video, multimedia). The practical training consists of practical laboratory classes and problem solving with the use of calculator and computer.

To be admitted to the final exam, students must attend 75% of practical classes provided according to the "Regulations of the principles to be observed in the assessment of students in UP".
Students who obtain a final mark of 10 (ten) in the final exam are considered approved.
