Objectives

Evolution and diversity of the immunological system. The differences between invertebrates and vertebrates immune system. Specificities of fish immune system. Knowledge of main components of the teleost fish immunological system (organs, cells and molecules) and their function. Notions about the fish immunological system. Understanding the fish immunological memory and vacination.

Immunological System Evolution. Differences between invertebrate and vertebrate immune system. Innate and adaptive immune system. Main components of the immunological system (organs, cell and molecules). Thymus, Spleen, Anterior Kidney, Epigonal and Leidig organs. Lymphocytes, Granulocytes and Macrophages. Ig, Mhc, TCR and Cytokines. Immune system ontogeny. Physiology of immune response. Immunomodulation. Methods of fish vaccination.
