Objectives

The teaching of the discipline is integrated in a vertical system (one teacher = one speciality instead of one teacher = one discipline) together with the disciplines of Medical Semiology-Companion animals, Clinical Pathology-Companion animals and Companion animal internal medicine and surgery I. This system culminates with the application of the methods in the clinical cases of both 5th year disciplines.
The objective of this system is to provide a fluid sequence of acquisition and application of knowledge.
The objective of the discipline is to improve the student’s capacity to apply learned procedures, as well as to develop clinical thinking and its application in real situations.
The work with real cases allows the development of communication skills, as well as ethical principles of clinical practice, as important as technical abilities.
