Eduarda Gomes Neves has been an Assistant Professor at the Department of Pathology and Molecular Immunology at ICBAS-University of Porto since 2012. She is a professor and director of Sanitary Inspection I and Exognosy and Animal Handling courses. She is a professor of Animal Welfare, Deontology and Veterinary Ethics at the Integrated Master of Veterinary Medicine. She graduated in Veterinary Medicine at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Technical University of Lisbon in 1992, obtained a Master’s in Public Health at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto in 2003 and received a PhD in Veterinary Sciences at ICBAS in 2012. From 1992 to 1994 she worked as a companion animal practitioner; between 1994 and 2009 she was an Official Veterinarian of the Portuguese General Directorate of Food and Veterinary Medicine (DGAV). Since 2019, she is a diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Public Health (ECVPH-EVBS) in the subspecialty of Food Science.
