The One Health Master aims to provide training for excellence in One Health. The interdependence between human health, animal health, and environmental health is described in the One Health approach. As such, this Master program will prepare human resources with the ability to approach emerging problems in the context of complex health systems involving the environment, animals and humans in a multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary fashion. The economic aspect of this course is crucial to ensure the sustainability of health systems.
With an innovative and personalized approach, the One Health Master will develop and integrate methodologies and perspectives of analysis from different areas of knowledge, from health sciences to social sciences. In a research environment of excellence and strong interdisciplinarity, students will develop innovative tools under the framework of the One Health concept.
At the end, students will acquire competences at the interfaces of animal health and human health based on the crucial influence of environmental health, as well as on the economic and social sustainability of health systems. Students are also expected to gain skills in ethics, global analysis, research, and the ability to communicate and debate ideas in both specialist and non-specialist environments. Moreover, the multidisciplinary nature of the course and the costume designed academic paths, will be an asset for future professionals to respond to present and future emerging health challenges in a changing world.
With this holistic approach, the One Health Master aims to train professionals to work in an integrated way in various fields, including academia and science, governmental and non-governmental entities, as well as companies linked to human, animal and environmental health, both nationally and internationally.
