As part of the annual summer courses organised by the European Public Health Association (EUPHA), this year we are promoting the V Summer School in Public Mental Health in Porto.
It will feature speakers from various global institutions, including the World Health Organization (WHO), the World Federation of Public Health Associations (WFPHA), and the European Public Health Association (EPHA). We also have a group of trainees from the Republic of Moldova who will take the opportunity of the Summer School to develop skills related to the reform of the Moldovan mental health system.

Objectives
To raise awareness among participants and provide them with knowledge and skills in research following a public mental health approach with field applicability to global crises, enabling participants to develop an idea and prepare a research protocol.
Professional Abilities
- Knowledge and understanding of the challenges resulting from global crises and disasters;
- Knowledge and understanding of the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and theaters of war both from a Public Mental Health perspective and on the organization of Mental Health Services;
- Crisis research skills and public health responses;
- Skills to write and publish a scientific paper.

Participants:
National and international students, attending the 2nd or 3rd cycle, in any higher education institution, in the areas of life sciences, health and/or behavioral sciences.

Criteria and subcriteria of selection and order of candidates:
If the applied number of trainees is less than the maximum number of vacancies, all those who meet the conditions of access will be selected and admitted in the order of application. If the number of candidates is higher, the selection and ordering process should be carried out, through the analysis of the candidate's curriculum, based on the following criteria:
University of origin:
Foreign institution (10 points)
National institution (5 points)
Level of training:
Students of doctoral programs (10 points)
Master's students (5 points)
Tiebreaker criterion(s)In the event of a tie, the highest level of training will be considered.
