This course aims to increase knowledge and skill of coming practitioners in the area of parenting intervention.
At the end of the semester students should be able to:
1. Identify the dimensions of positive parenting and its impact on child and youth development
2. Define parenting education according with the levels and modalities of parenting intervention
3. Identify the conceptual framework and the objectives of parenting education
4. Use strategies to promote positive parenting in the context of parent education
5. Discuss the adequacy of parenting interventions to the target groups
6. Know evidence based parental education programs and relevant research in this field.
7. Identify methods and instruments for evaluating the efficacy and the effectiveness of parenting education
8. Integrate the ethical and deontological principles underlying the practice of parenting education
9. Know the quality standards for parental education programs.

4. Tutorial in groups of two students - the teacher guides the students’ essay on parental education programs. This essay is: a) discussed in class; b) delivered as a written report.
5. Peer learning - students watch and discuss the papers presented by colleagues in the context of the classroom.

Students should be present in at least 75% of classes and performe the project proposed by professors.
The final classification results from the weighted average of grades obtained in the following assignments:
1. Training of strategies to promote positive parenting (25%)
2. Oral presentation and written assignment of the work performed by each group (25%)
3. Final exam (50%).
Grades will be presented on the 0 to 20 scale.
The student must have at least 8 points in each of the assignments' classification.
Not considered.
Any situation involving a special assessment should be presented by students and reviewed by professors at the beginning of the semester.
Only applicable to final exam.
