Objectives
To study the interinfluence between research, policy and practice, integrated process in the construction of narratives and policy agendas around contemporary youth.
To equip students with scientific and technical knowledge for the development of policies, of research for social impact, of action programs that put young people, their agendas and their role in the development and cohesion of their regions at the center;
To foster the investigative spirit on youth issues and their territories;
Develop research and intervention projects in contexts and around youth issues - Diagnose, read and critically analyze problems affecting young people
Provide knowledge about different professional roles in working with young people and with organizations in the improvement of responses situated for youth
Analyse modes and models of socio-educational work with young people and their communities in rural, peri-urban and urban contexts.
Study ethical issues in different contexts of work and research with youth.

Learning outcomes and competences
At the end of this course students should be able to
Analyze youth policies and ways in which they are appropriated and territorialized.
Identify the best approaches in working with youth, as well as the main governance figures and organizations.
Design innovative proposals for potential youth policies, for the implementation of youth actions and agendas, notably at regional and local level.
Be able to incorporate young people in the design of intervention, research and policy proposals.
Identify professions, structures, institutions and programs dedicated to youth and youth development.
Be able to analyze, evaluate and propose work programs for youth development in different socio-educational contexts and different territories.
Know the stages of a social impact study.
Recognize ethical requirements and their deontological procedures in research and intervention work with young people.

Teaching methods and learning activities
Lecture.
Discussion and analysis of texts relating to youth policies and multi-level governance processes - European, national and regional.
Analysis and discussion of programs and research projects about and with young people.
Contact with the field which will be developed as follows:
- contact with research projects underway or already carried out in the Center for Educational Research and Intervention, in particular those developed in the framework of the Community of Practice Research Youth, Education, Diversity and Innovation (CoPIn - JEDI).
- Contact with projects and intervention programs being developed in the field (refer to those with which there is already a long-standing institutional relationship, protocoled, or collaborative networks: Federations and youth associations (ex: FNAJ), pedagogical departments of sports clubs, industry, town halls, museums, local development associations and schools.
Assessment: research proposal/intervention/project (60%) in articulation with specific disciplines 1 and 2, the UC of Research Methodologies in Education and Critical Analysis of Theories in Education. The structure and internal coherence in theoretical and methodological terms is valued, as well as the social and educational relevance of the proposal and the way in which they are able to integrate young people in the proposal in an evident manner in the production of knowledge, the project or the intervention. The evaluation focuses on the written document and a short presentation in the CoPIn JEDI.
Construction of an integrated collective digital portfolio (40%) grouping the different proposals of the class group around their objects, problems, theoretical and methodological approach.
