Objectives

At the end of this course the students should be able to:

- Understand and explain the principles of neuropsychological assessment as well the theoretical models that support neuropsychological assessment.

- Know the major neuropsychological deficits (selection), integrating the cognitive and the neurofunctional aspects.

- Describe accuracy and error indicators underlying neuropsychological assessment.

- Show expertise skills regarding neuropsychological assessment: preparatory interview (neuropsychological history), screening and examination procedures.

- Plan a neuropsychological battery (neuropsychological tests and other examination techniques) according the patient deficits and elaborate a written report (performance description and interpretation).

- Give clinical and rehabilitation guidelines according to the neuropsychological assessment results.

Module 2. Main evaluation methods and techniques
a) Neurological evaluation
b) Neuropsychological Screening and Comprehensive Neuropsychological Evaluation
c) Neuropsychological Screening: tests (selection)

Module 3. Practices of Neuropsychological Assessment 
a) Neuropsychological Comprehensive Batteries (selection)
b) Assembly of neuropsychological evaluation batteries suitable for specific case

c) Training of administration and interpretation of neuropsychological tests and batteries.

Eligibility for exams

Attendance to, at least, 75% of the classes.

Calculation formula of final grade

The final grade results from the arithmetic average of the marks obtained in the two tests carried out at the end of Module 2 (contents of Module 1 and 2) and Module 3. Students who do not obtain a final grade of 9.5 or higher will have automatic access to an appeal test, at a date and time to be agreed upon.

Student-workers and beneficiaries of comparable statutes must carry out the tests on the same day of general students; a different time may be agreed upon by a justified request from the students.

Classification improvement
