Objectives

Case studies. Analysis of social processes in light of social psychological theory and research

Learning outcomes and competences

Ability to develop a social psychological rationale to specific cases related with prejudice and discrimination, power and social conflict, or consumerism, and to propose theoretically founded intervention strategies about those cases.

Case study: Blattant anti-semitism (based on the Nazi propaganda film "Der Ewige Jude")

Case study: Anti-semitism, victimization, and social dominance (based on the Israelian documentary "Defamation")

Case study: Sexual orientation, prejudice, and discrimination (based on the factual film "For the Bible Tells Me So")

Case study: Social construction of prejudice and discrimination (based on the documentary "Blue Eyes")
