Objectives

By the end of this Curricular Unit (CU) students should develop: (a) a global knowledge in the area of Organizational Psychology as a field of study as well as a practice; (b) a knowledge in what is concern with organizational psychological phenomena, as well as theories that enable them to understand and explain these phenomena; and (c) a meta knowledge of different existing approaches and the relations between these theories and their framework.

Learning outcomes and competences

At the end of the course it is expected that students are able to:

  • Identify the object of study of Organizational Psychology and the type of problems it addresses;
  • Describe psychological phenomena related to the functioning of organizations
  • Describe the theories that allow us to understand and explain the functioning of organizations;
  • Relate different theories and its conceptual framework.

Eligibility for exams

Class attendance is not compulsory.

Calculation formula of final grade

The final grade results of the mark obtained in the Final exam (100%).
 
To obtain approval in the course, the student have to obtain a final mark of 10 values out of 20 (according to point 2, Article 4 of Regulation Assessment of students FPCEUP). If the student misses the moment of evaluation or do not get the minimum score defined he will not be approved in the discipline.

Special assessment (TE, DA, ...)

Students with special needs should acknowledge it to the Support Unit (Serviço de Apoio) in the beginning of the Semester in order for the teacher is informed.
For this, they both should contact at the BEGINNING of the semester (NEVER after 2nd class) the professor.

Classification improvement

Grade improvement is possible by taking another exam.
Students may require the UC’s grade improvement once, until two evaluation periods of the following academic year in which the students passed the UC and the UC foresees an exam.
