Objectives
This course aims to develop knowledge and competencies of educational, social and community intervention methods, assuming a contextualist, ecological and situated view of intervention.
Learning outcomes and competences
Competencies and knowledge in the field of educational intervention metodology.
Capacity to critically analyse various intervention projects that involve diverse contexts, problems and methods.
Reflect over the challenges of educational interventions in exclusion contexts and within discriminated groups.

I. A contextual and ecological perspective of intervention in educational contexts.
II. Context analysis, needs/resources assessment and project development and monitoring.
II. Typology of intervention methodologies - direct and indirect strategies;
- educational helping relationships,
- consultation/training.
IV. Ethical challenges in educational, social and community interventions.
V. Power and support as individual and societal resources:
- social support group, social capital;
- peer education, mentorship and self-help and support groups;
- power and individual, organizational and community empowerment;
- community partnerships and community empowerment, service-learning, and participatory action-research.
VI. Project evaluation - evaluation as an empowering and enabling device.
VII. Analysis and discussion of intervention projects in diverse educational contexts.

Eligibility for exams
Students should attend classes according to the regulations regarding students' assessment.
Calculation formula of final grade
Based on three mandatory components:
- project grid (3);
- group presentation and discussion of 2 intervention projects (8); and
- test (9).
Special assessment (TE, DA, ...)
Students who cannot attend classes must do a special exam to determine whether they have acquired the required knowledge and skills.

Through improvement of the test.
