Teaching methods and learning activities

The teaching methodology rests on an active pedagogical approach combined with a strategy of joint responsibility between the teachers and the students, in the learning process. The first few classes, dedicated to a conceptual framing, will be of the responsibility of the teachers. The remaining classes will be assured by the students, in cooperation and with the support of the teachers. In these classes the students are expected to present the result of a group work regarding a specific theme/content addressed in the first sessions, with the intention to deepen the knowledge on such subjects. The themes will be chosen by each group. During the presentation time, the teachers will provide constructive comments and insights, clarifying the concepts and themes. It is also expected that students use their autonomous work time to conduct their research on the concepts essential to the comprehension of the themes/contents, as well as on relevant and complementary bibliography.
Also, each student is expected to individually develop a critical research work.
All groups will be supported and tutored during the preparation of their group work. Also, the teachers will ensure all the support need by students during the development of the individual work.
